While sitting here watching the Super Bowl, or should I say the commercials, with the hubs it made me think.
Things like the Super Bowl used to be family friendly events. Back in the day the whole family could sit down and enjoy a good game and some, usually, funny commercials. But watching tonight I've realized just how far we have wondered from God as a nation.
I have never seen so many sexual images and innuendos in such a brief time. Just the half time show only made me glad that our girls were already in bed. I'm not saying that Beyonce doesn't have a great voice, but her clothes and movements. Between that and some of the commercials, it's just down right vulgar at times.
All this makes me thankful that my girls are still young. That we, as parents, still have the time to hopefully instill Godly values and morals in them. To help them realize that they don't have to dress or act like the media says they need to.
This also made me realize just how thankful I am that my hubs and I share our values and faith. That we both want to help our girls find their faith in God and therefore have a wonderful life following His footsteps.
